Azure Islands Designs Giveaway (winner selected)

by Diane Estrella on March 15, 2010

Heather Cote, owner of Azure Islands Designs, is a sweet and talented lady from the shores of North Bay in Ontario, Canada.  Her blog always makes me jealous with the beautiful pictures from her deck overlooking the water and sunsets.  Her handcrafted pieces are perfection and unique in every way.  She encourages custom orders and all of her work is 100% guaranteed.

“I love the south, with the sun, sand and water…I should have been born in Florida, the Caribbean or Mexico…at the very least I should be a Gypsy, or maybe an aged Hippy???  Not going to happen in this life time though…I satisfy myself with visits south!

Beads, silver, and everything that goes with it is my passion, a huge addiction.   I know other jewelry/bead designers will understand exactly what I’m talking about.  All it took for me was to make my first necklace and I was hooked…my favorite medium is silver, sterling silver, argentium silver and or fine silver, I enjoy the feel of it in my hands, the process of cutting, hammering, sanding, etc., there is an immense satisfaction when a piece comes out the way you are expecting or even hoping!!!  I’ve begun to work with Art Clay(fine silver with a clay binder that once burned off leaves a fine silver piece)…I’m impressed with the possibilities with this product.

I have a line of jewelry that I simply call The Heart & Stroke Series”…anything I make with a heart, when sold, a donation is made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation…I have a strong family history of heart disease which is why I chose this particular charity to work with.”

I love the broken heart necklace. There were three other pairs of earrings but they were already sold.

Wow! It is all gorgeous, but I am going to say the Amber Sunrise Bracelet is one of my favs- or the Pearl’s Galore Bracelet. But even the pics you have of the give away pieces look amazing… maybe we’re all just ready to think spring?! :)

I have to say one of her most striking designs is her Broken Heart series which is a fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Heather is not only a talented artisan but a generous one as well.

Oooh I love the broken heart necklace. The starfish comes in close second since my current WIP revolves around sea creatures. I’m following her bog. Thanks for telling us about it! :)

I love all the stones with different colors, and the simple circle earrings. My fave earrings were the plum heart ones.
