WINNER SELECTED~~~DONNA LAWRENCE!
Grow with the spirited, sometimes awkward, but always charming Lily as she learns what real beauty is.
In this fun, entertaining story, readers meet awkward sixth grader Lily Robbins who, after receiving a compliment about her looks from a woman in the modeling business, becomes obsessed with her appearance and with becoming a model. As she sets her sights on winning the model search fashion show, she exchanges her rock and feather collection for lip gloss, fashion magazines, and a private “club” with her closest friends. But when the unthinkable happens the night before the fashion show, Lily learns a valuable lesson about real beauty.
This best-selling, biblically based fiction series for girls-with a fresh new look and updated content-addresses social issues and coming-of-age topics, all with the spunk and humor of Lily Robbins as she fumbles her way through unfamiliar territory. As readers come to love Lily and her stories, they’ll also benefit from the companion nonfiction books that will help them through their own growing pains.
Our Review
My daughter’s thoughts: The author did a very good job of making me feel like Lily is a real person. I think that it was a great book to read because the characters were funny. I learned that beauty is not only on the outside but also from the inside. I know that God is the one who makes us beautiful in our own way.
My thoughts: This book is a great reminder to parents of just how obsessive pre-teens can be. They can get crazy about looks, boys, girls, hair, beauty, and on, and on it goes. What I love about this book is that the main character learns about the “God-confidence” she can have in all things. She learned where to put her focus and who’s opinion she should care about the most.
There were a lot of great lessons in this book that provided girls with real “girl power.” Lily used her new-found confidence and poise to benefit others and not only focus on herself. When we start to feel good about ourselves and put things in the right perspective, we are able to translate that into helping others too.
A sweet book for girls of all ages to learn from and enjoy!

I would really like to have this book. With several nieces and a young daughter of my own, it would be very helpful. I have heard great things about this book. Thank you for your review and giveaway.
I just love the "girly" cover. For so long, girls didn't want to look like girls, so this is a delight. I would love to win this for my daughter's 4 little girls.

I would love to have this book. It looks like a lot of fun. Series books always are. I have a picture book series I'm working on. (((hugs)))
This book addresses an important topic. I work with elementary children, but even at this age, concern about appearance is very important for a lot of children. This book sounds like a fun way to address the issue.
