Do you really know where you’re heading?

I admit it, when I’m driving a lot of the time I go into a haze.

I zone out.

I’m on auto-pilot.

The glaze comes over my eyes and my mind wanders. I’ve traveled this road so many times and for so long, that I don’t really have to pay that close of attention to where I’m driving.

Just coasting along. No purpose in the journey, just gonna arrive…..

WHERE WAS I HEADING AGAIN??!?!?!

Aack!

How about your final destination? Ultimately, when this long drive is over, and you throw your car into “P” that one last time, do you know where your final parking spot will be?

Do you ever really think about it? Do you REALLY know where you’re heading?

Bumper-to-bumper traffic makes auto-pilot easy for me, but at times, I can be cruising along on a wide-open highway and still find myself daydreaming. What I want more than anything is to fulfill the purposes for which God has kept me upon this earth — to hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Nothing else really matters, and yet it's so easy to get caught up in what we think is important in the here and now. May God bless you in this exciting new year!
