Yummy……. DOUBLE CHECK!!!
My mother-in-law passed down this recipe to me and I am so glad she did. This is something that the entire family loves and will last for multiple meals which is another bonus. Plus, according to the great chefs before me, nothing beats pork products, right??!?!!?
Pulled Pork using a crockpot/slow cooker
The Rub:
3 T. paprika 1 T. brown sugar 1 T. oreganoCombine all and rub a boneless, pork butt or shoulder on all sides with this mixture. Place into a crock pot and cook at least 12 hours. (I put mine in at 8:PM and then continued cooking on low until 4:PM the next day.) Times will vary but it is ready when you can pull the meat apart easily.
Skim as much of the fat off as you’d like, but leave the juice from cooking it, in with the meat.
Now, here comes the fun part! My family actually LOVES it like this as is, however you can easily add a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce to the mixture and make sandwiches too. My mother-in-law recommended Stubb’s original BBQ sauce which happens to be gluten free for those with gluten issues. It is yummy with or without, just depends on your mood.
Then, sit back and enjoy over and over again!
